The Seven Seas Grandeur, the third luxury cruise ship and last of the Explorer class built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, commissioned by Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the luxury brand of Norwegian Cruise Line.
With a capacity to accommodate 746 passengers on board, the 55,000 ton vessel was built using the latest environmental protection technologies.
Seven Seas Grandeur will be the first cruise ship to offer guests a floating museum featuring an impressive multimillion-dollar contemporary art collection of approximately 1,600 works. The collection is distributed in public spaces, restaurants and guest suites. The centerpiece of the collection is a seven-inch Fabergé egg called "Journey in jewels", created in collaboration with the famous jeweler, which will take center stage in the ship's impressive atrium.
The ship's godmother is Sarah Fabergé, great-granddaughter of the legendary jeweler Carl Fabergé.
