Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau is the capital and largest city of The Bahamas, an archipelago of 700 islands in the Caribbean Sea. It is located on the island of New Providence, which is also the most populated island in the archipelago. The city was founded in 1666 by British colonists and has a rich history dating back to colonial times. Nassau was an important centre of trade and smuggling, and was also a haven for pirates and privateers.


Today, Nassau is a modern tourist town with a population of about 250,000. The city is famous for its idyllic beaches, coral reefs and colonial architecture.
