Today, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, the new Viking Vela was launched, touching the water for the first time in the customary float-out ceremony. This marks the beginning of a new series of cruise ships for the shipping company Viking Cruises.
Delivery is expected by the end of 2024. The vessel will position itself in the small-sized ship market segment with a gross tonnage of approximately 54,300 tons, featuring 499 cabins and accommodating 998 passengers on board.
Viking ships are constructed according to the latest navigation and safety regulations. They are equipped with highly efficient engines and systems that minimize exhaust gas pollution, meeting the strictest environmental standards.
