Last Monday, at the Fincantieri shipyards in Monfalcone, Mein Schiff Relax touched the water for the first time in the customary float-out ceremony. This event marks a significant milestone in sustainability for TUI Cruises, as they launched the first of two ships in the InTUItion class.
Following the ancient maritime tradition, the shipyard's chaplain, Roberto Benvenuto, blessed the ship with prayers and holy water. Elena Sperti, the shipyard's godmother, symbolically inaugurated the Mein Schiff Relax hull by breaking a bottle of Prosecco, adhering to the Italian tradition to invoke luck upon the ship and all those who will travel on it once it sets sail.
Together with Bazzara Cristiano, the Director of the Fincantieri shipyard, Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, opened the valves that filled the dry dock where the ship was positioned.
"This ship is also something very special for us: it embodies the further development of everything we have represented for almost ten years with the new constructions of the Mein Schiff fleet," says Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises.
